TJYAA 2023 FOOTBALL SEASON

Our 2023 Football season is here! Thanks for joining us!

We are excited to offer : 
Flag football for ages 5-6 
7U
8U
9U
10U
11U
12U
13U 

If your athlete is 14 and still in the 8th grade OR 14 and in high school but weighs less and not planning on being on his/her high school football roster, they may be able to play on 13U. 

To keep the costs down for athletes, we operate as a non-profit organization, using volunteers only. We cannot do this without the help of the community. At the end of registration, it will ask if you would like to volunteer! Please consider joining us this season as either a coach or a team mom/dad!

Our season will run from July-November
We practice 4x a week (Monday-Thursday) prior to the start of school, once school begins, we drop down to 3x a week (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) 
Our official season start date is TBD by the league (Last season it was approved for July 27th) as we get closer, expect more emails for up-to-date timelines. 
We will hold an optional “football camp” for the week prior to the start of the season, this will be a station-based camp where your child will learn the basics of each and every position, prior to the season (additional cost and start date in email to come), we will begin our season thereafter. 

We will also hold a speed and agility training all month of June until the start of camp. This is open to the public free of charge. We will hold this at “Walnut ridge park”. Coach Rusty and volunteers will take the kids through a list of speed and agility-based drills. Look for this in our emails soon to come, time and dates will be provided then. 

We practice at GTJHS on the practice field behind the football stadium.
We are working with the high school now to have home games on the GTJHS Turf 


Please stay tuned for official emails regarding the exact season start date as well as optional camps we will hold throughout the spring and summer, meet the board night, meet the coaches night, and equipment handouts. 

Members are required to: 
Sign parent code of conduct (will be handed out at the beginning of the season)
Sign athlete code of conduct (will be handed out at the beginning of the season)
Obtain Physicals (paperwork emailed to you upon completion of registration) to be turned in at equipment hand out. 
Turn in 3 deposit checks for fundraising ($100), equipment ($150), and volunteer ($100) at equipment hand out. All deposit checks remain uncashed and are returned at the end of the season upon completion of required volunteer hours, fundraising, and equipment return. For each athlete, a parent or guardian (or other arranged member), must volunteer at least 1 home game for either: chains, field set up, spotter, concession stand, apparel stand, or ticket sales, etc. 
ID cards are required, and they will be $30 at the beginning of the season (if you bought a card in 2022, you will be good for the dates listed on that card) - you will turn in your birth certificate and $30 into the league and you will be given an ID card. Coaches will keep the ID cards through the season and the ID will be checked before each game.

We have a "no exceptions" rule for these deposit checks. We understand not everyone has checks. Please discuss options with your bank prior to the start of the season so your athletes maintain eligibility status. Your athlete may not get their equipment or begin practice without turning in these 3 checks as well as the physical. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT MONEY ORDERS OR CASH.  

Athletes must be equipped by the beginning of the season with the following: 
Cleats 
Mouthguard
Cup 
1 integrated football pant in the colors NAVY BLUE for games (these may also be worn at practice, or you may obtain additional pairs for practice of any color) 
Practice Jersey (any color) 
Football socks 
Water bottle 
(Check our store linked at the bottom of this email for integrated pants and practice jerseys) 

Any athlete who comes to practice without the items mentioned above may not practice. Athletes may wear any color football pants and practice jersey for practice. We recommend getting multiple mouthguards and cups as they seem to be the items that are misplaced the most.

new or used football pants of all sizes 
anyone willing to offer T-shirt making services 

We are excited to offer for the first time FREE BACKPACKS for those who register before April 20th. So sign up now!!! Please be advised that due to this promotion, no refunds will be available.
If you are registering outside of the early bird window, we offer 15 day refund policy on registration 

BACKPACKS WILL BE DELIVERED TO THE ADDRESS USED DURING REGISTRATION. These are custom backpacks for our league so please allow up to 4 weeks for processing.

THE FOLLOWING MUST BE TURNED IN - IN PERSON, and signed with INK (not electronically) :

We have a wonderful partnership with Ft. Detrick Youth Services. They provided us with their own physical and health screening assessments for you. PLEASE BE SURE THAT ON THE PHYSICAL, UNDER THE "PARTICIPANT RECOMMENDATIONS" SECTION, THEY ARE CLEARED FOR SPORTS, AND THE BOX IS CHECKED TO INSURE CLEARANCE. Secondly, due to the differences in terminology between us as Ft. Detrick, any time you see the word "sponsor" on the forms such as "sponsor name" that means PARENT NAME and you will fill that out as yourself.






You will also need to provide the birth certificate to the league upon the beginning of the season for them to verify your athlete as well. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT PHOTOCOPIES. We will send out an email when the time comes, but just wanted to give you a heads up in case you need to find it!

We are looking for coaches for every team, so when you sign your child up to play, if your so inclined, fill out a coaches form as well. Coach Rusty looks forward to speaking with you about becoming coaches for the 2023 season!!!

TJYAA 2023 CHEER SEASON

Our 2023 Cheer season is here! Thanks for joining us!

We are excited to offer :
Flag football cheerleading for ages 5-6
Cheerleading for age groups 7-13
1-2 cheerleading competitions
fun events such as fairs and parades

Our flag football cheerleaders only cheer flag football due to their age group, they still participate in all events including cheerleading competitions!

To keep the costs down for athletes, we operate as a non-profit organization, using volunteers only. We can not do this without the help of the community. At the end of registration, it will ask if you would like to volunteer! Please consider joining us this season as either a coach or a team mom/dad! We are IN NEED of cheerleading head coaches and asst coaches for each team.

Our season will run from July-November
We value our volunteer coaches time, and each team may practice on different times or days of the week. We will try to follow the football schedule of Tuesday/Thursday practices.
Our official season start date is TBD by the league (Last season it was approved for July 27th)

Bows are required at practice to allow athletes to get used to learning skills with the bows in so it is easier when they perform. There is no requirement for the type or color of any practice gear.

Any athlete who comes to practice without the items mentioned above may not practice. Please do not send your athletes to practice in crocs or slides!

Athletes are also required to have the following for game days, please order these ASAP as sizing and shipping are often unpredictable :
WHITE sneakers for games

RED bloomers for under uniform skirt. These should be snug and fit like boxer briefs. Please make sure they are SHORT to hide under the skirt and but not "underwear" style (example: https://www.cheerleading.com/poly-spandex-boy-cut-briefs.html?category_id=191 )


Due to the nature of cheerleading, cheerleaders are also required to purchase warm ups (for cold weather and night games) and game bow totaling $150. This is due at the beginning of the season with either check, cash, or money order. This gear is yours to keep.

Registration will close 6 weeks prior to the start of the season to ensure amply timing to order BRAND NEW UNIFORMS !!

Backpacks are custom made to order for our league so please allow up to 4 weeks for processing. THE BACKPACKS WILL BE DELIVERED TO THE ADDRESS ON FILE.
